Every Decision Matters

Stop making “ant” decisions, it’s killing the tree.

Yes and no are two sides of the same coin. When we make a choice out of fear even one time, it becomes like an ant that eats away at a strong tree. Over time the ants cause holes in the trunk, those eventually become visible to the outside world. It weakens the tree’s foundation and no new branches can grow.

If ants don’t stop, the tree stops growing all together. It all started with one ant making the decision to take a small piece of the tree. With nothing stopping it from doing it again and again, the tree breaks.

Our small decisions that we justify by saying “Just this one time I’m going to say ‘yes.’ I know ‘no’ is the right answer for me but I don’t want to make them upset or disappointed.” How many unaligned “yes’s” can you say out of fear of other’s feelings before your foundation of self crumbles?

Every decision matters.

Conversely, “Just this one time I’m going to say ‘no.’ I’ll go next time when I feel more ready.” How many scared “no’s” can you say out of fear of failure before your foundation of self crumbles?

Every decision matters.

Do not make decisions out of fear. Make decisions based on knowing yourself and loving yourself to decide worthwhile actions. What is a “worthwhile” yes or no? The Riveting Mission definition of “worthwhile” is an investment of resources (time, energy, or money) that matters toward who you’re becoming.
